10-2: Signal Good

In APCO 10-codes, 10-2 typically means "Signal Good" or "Receiving Well." This is the opposite of 10-1 and is used to indicate that radio communications are clear and strong.

Here’s an example of how it could be used in a communication exchange:

  • Officer: "Dispatch, this is unit 45, how do you read me?"
  • Dispatch: "Unit 45, you're 10-2, signal is good."

In this exchange, the dispatcher is confirming that the officer's radio transmission is coming through clearly, without issues. 10-2 is commonly used to acknowledge that communication lines are functioning well, whether in law enforcement, emergency services, or other fields where radio communication is crucial.
