the https://web.archive.org/web/20021011170419/http://bk.ath.cx:187 shows another snapshot in time where a single post was shown after restoring the site from an apparent hack. i mention something in that post about "kitty litter" and do believe i still have some source code from that app from ages ago. this has surely helped prove some things that i have long known were true and can assure you that i made the "social media" platform before another in 2004.

aside from a few missing graphics files the page here represented the color theme of the website 2002+ before i had taken it offline in 2004ish. the listing you see here was created using XML + PHP to update live. each file type was provided with a corresponding icon to easily identify the type w/o having to read the file name.

came across the BK newsfeed from 2002 and apparently mentioned that "my main page has been converted from html to php for use of an include('script.php');". so the site was already using PHP in many locations over it's ancient Perl CGI scripts which served their purpose. i am fairly certain i have backups of some of this ancient CGI that i recall Dave (from somewhere else in NY) had helped me tweak for the Photos section so we could simply scroll left or right, infinitely, through the entire photo album that the /user/ would post themselves in their albums.

further down the rabbit hole i come across https://web.archive.org/web/20020604161047/http://bk.ath.cx:187/ugb/ugb.cgi that was archived. the CGI guestbook with a few IRL friends and some others that were commonly found floating on IRC, AOL, etc.

interestingly enough i have found https://web.archive.org/web/20010515214624/http://www.bk.ath.cx posted on archive.org that shows the OG Black Kattz site i had created around the late 90s. i roughly began dev on the site in 1997-1998 and was only visible to a single IP that i could access remotely. the BK site was, to my knowledge, the 1st usable "Cloud" and was made public so others could post around 1999-2000. i had mentioned this site to close friends and before i knew it in 2000 the site would begin to have 2K unique visitors a day.
